“Capitalism and black slavery were intertwined. The Atlantic economy, in every aspect, was effectively sustained by African enslavement.” (Nations 2015)

The Caribbean has been an important hub for exports of various resources for the more developed countries around the world, this system can be seen to have stemmed from slavery within the region during 15th – 18th century.

The enterprise of the enslavement period would have benefited the countries of the world which are considered the superpowers and resulted in their economies becoming more developed. However this would have stemmed from the exploitation of Caribbean countries and enslaved persons on these islands who were brought from African contents.
